Meet Our Staff
Betty Burch, Post Closer
Betty has been a native of Lynchburg for over 55 years. She began her career as a registered nurse and has now been a part of the real estate community for over 30 years.
Betty is a licensed real estate broker and has been a member of the Jones Johnston & White, P.C. team for 5 years, where she works as a real estate closer. She loves helping a closing come together and assisting our clients through any problems that arise. In her spare time, she spends time with her three married sons and their families, including her seven grandchildren.
Kathy Saunders, Account and Post-Closing Manager
Kathy is a Lynchburg native who has worked as a loan processor and closer for lenders, as well as an account manager for a local property management company. She joined the team at Jones Johnston & White, P.C. in 1999 and currently handles all accounting and post-closing matters for residential real estate transactions.
She enjoys working with the great team at Jones Johnston & White, P.C., who help each other provide excellent service for your real estate experience. When not working hard, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Lena Ruhland, Paralegal and Account Manager
Lena is originally from Lansing, Michigan and joined Jones Johnston & White, P.C. in August 2019. Her day-to-day responsibilities include closing intakes, deed drafting, and title letters. She also manages the firm’s non-real estate accounts and billing software.
She enjoys meeting the clients that come in and witnessing the joy clients feel on closing days.
Outside of work she likes to spend outside time with her Great Pyrenees, attend her children’s sporting events, concerts, and festivals, as well as take spontaneous trips out of town with her family.
Karen Mason, Legal Assistant and Client Coordinator
A native Lynchburg resident, Karen’s joined the team of Jones Johnston & White, P.C. in September 2020. Her duties include assisting our attorneys with day-to-day operations of scheduling appointments, preparing legal documents and recordings, helping with post closings and real estate closing duties. and assisting clients on the phone and in person. She enjoys making sure our clients have a positive experience when they choose us for their legal needs.
When she’s not at the office, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and three girls, as well as taking care of her rescue animals and traveling any chance she gets.
Tara F. Gowen, Real Estate Processor
Tara is a lifelong resident of Lynchburg VA who joined our team in December 2020. She enjoys rising to the challenge of her position as a loan processer by finding creative solutions for her clients and making sure their needs are met.
As a mother of four, Tara keeps busy outside of work as well. With two kids away at college and two at home, you can often find her at her children’s sports events, or volunteering at their high school as President of the booster association and Secretary of the Parent Teacher Student Organization. In her downtime, Tara also enjoys singing with her local church choir.
Teah Perkins, Real Estate Processor
Amanda Rowland, Paralegal
Amanda is a Campbell County native who has worked in the legal field for over 15 years. She joined the team at JJW Law in 2023 and assists our attorneys with estate planning, deed preparation, real estate matters, and other various civil litigation projects.
Outside of the office she enjoys baking, attending concerts, and spending time at the lake with her husband and friends.
Shari Eagle, Real Estate Processor & Title Underwriter
Shari is a Lynchburg native who has worked in the real estate field for over 25 years. Her experience includes recording documents in the land records, processing files for closing, assisting Commercial Loan Officers in the banking industry, and underwriting title insurance policies.
She loves spending time with her husband, three children, and her fur babies. She enjoys spending time and traveling with friends on weekend getaways. Her favorite weekend getaway is to Beaufort, South Carolina taking in the historic sights, scenery, and of course shopping in all the quaint little boutique
